Mrs. Aghayere is blessed to have the privilege of serving as the director for the academy for over 15 years. God has blessed her with the opportunity to give back to students a portion of what has been given to her. It is her desire to instill in each child a love and a longing to learn. Her prayer is to help them enjoy the different stages of learning and to excel in all that they do.
Mr. Barcliff has been teaching at the academy for 7 years. He believes all children have the capacity for advanced learning. He enjoys challenging young minds to think outside of the box and prove that learning should be fun!
Ms. Henderson is originally from Brooklyn, NY. She is a graduate from Norfolk State University, VA where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Early Childhood Education, Psychology and English. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Education/Administration and Supervision at the University of Phoenix. Her family and her love for teaching the children of the future, are the things that she holds close and dear to her heart.
Mrs. Robinson is a wife and the proud mother of four grown adults. She is an active member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church for 29 years. She is a Native of Starkville, MS. She is a graduate of Mary Holmes Jr. College, West Point, MS, where she received an Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education. She also received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University. Mrs. Robinson has been a Kindergarten teacher for 15 years. She is CPR First aid certified, and is certified in Food Service and Safety. Currently, she has taken over 200 credit hours of Professional Development classes from Loudoun County childcare workshops and Fairfax Office for Children. Her philosophy of education is to help create a learning environment where all students will be lifelong learners. “A mind is a terrible thing to waste.”
Ms. Robinson is a graduate from Ferrum College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sports Studies and a Minor in Coaching. Her favorite motto is “Not self but others.” She is a person that loves to help people. This is her second year as an assistant teacher and first year as the PE teacher with the academy. Her role with fitness is to help the children stay fit at a young age. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight.” She is an active member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church for 25 years.
Mrs. Spencer’s history with the academy is approximately fourteen years. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from Saint Augustine’s College (Saint Augustine’s University), Raleigh, North Carolina. She is originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, married with three adult children and one grandchild. Teaching is one of the highlights of her life.
Mrs. Taylor is a graduate of Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA where she earned a B.S. in Rehabilitation Services and Master’s of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. She has over 30 hours of courses from George Mason University and University of Virginia. She is a Baton Rouge, LA native and has been living in Virginia for over 15 years. She is married and has two precious sons. Her motto is “every child is special from God, so no matter what disability or situation they may have, they can still learn.”
