The holidays can be a happy and joyful time for many, while others may be dealing with difficulties. Let us remember those who are in need, and be a blessing to those who may be less fortunate than us. This year the Christian Academy will participate in two events that will help others, the Thanksgiving Food Drive and Branch of Love.
Thanksgiving Food Drive – Feed The Hungry
The Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Missions Ministry is requesting donations for side dish items to go into the Turkey Baskets to feed the hungry. The Christian Academy is participating by asking each classroom to donate non-perishable food items. Non-perishable food items are either canned or dried foods.
- K3 Classroom – Canned gravy
- K4 Classroom – Canned or dried beans (black-eyed peas, kidney beans, etc.)
- K5 Classroom – Stuffing (In a box or bag)
- 1st/2nd Grade – Rice (In a box or bag)
Branch of Love
Please help incarcerated families in need by purchasing a Toy and/or Clothing request for the selected child. We understand that purchasing one or both requests may not be feasible for some families. Whatever requested toy and/or clothing item you can purchase, will be a blessing. Please bring your items wrapped to the school by Friday, November 30th. To make this extra special for the children, Branch of Love requires for the items to be wrapped so that children can experience the element of of surprise when opening their gift. Please also tape an index card to the back of your wrapped gift with the following:
- Child’s name
- Age
- Item purchased
Please see your child’s classroom teacher for the specific toy and clothing request.
